April 2016 Prayer update

Primary Schools – We thank God for successful and well received presentations of the Easter Code in five local primary schools – over 200 children and their teachers engaging with the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. We are thankful for the SU groups which exist in Scotstoun and Broomhill primaries, and hope to hear that the Whiteinch group will recommence after the summer. We have the opportunity to re-launch a group in Thornwood primary too, but- as with the other groups – there is an urgent need for volunteers to run the groups. Please pray for people to come forward to support and serve their schools in this way.

Pray and support – Please continue to pray for the work of the Trust here in the West End of Glasgow. The Chairman, Stuart Smith, is to leave this summer to take up a new post in Gairloch, and this will also deprive the trust of its administrator, his wife Elspeth. Ideally, we need to find replacements for both these posts as soon as possible to allow a period of handover. Pray that local church members and leaders will identify strongly with our work, and see it as a key part of God’s mission in the city, so that they will commit to personal, financial, and prayerful support.

Summer camps – We thank God that numbers of bookings for both the events in which Wheel trust staff are involved are rising, and pray on for full houses in Glenshee and Kings Cross on Arran. Please pray for the planning of these events, and especially for the gathering of an appropriately qualified team for Arran, as this is a new event in the SU calendar. We thank God that we continue to have this opportunity to share Christian community with young people, and pray that He will use these events to bless and grow His kingdom among us.
