Join us on Thursday 23rd June 2022 for POETRY READING AND DISCUSSION

Open mic and open questions

7.30pm  Free Entry

The Crypt Café will form an inspiring setting for this interesting evening of poetry and wide ranging discussion.  We start with an open mic and invite folk to read poems of their choice, whether original or traditional.  To avoid disappointment, intending contributors are advised contact the church office in advance to book a slot, but we hope the microphone will be as open as possible.

After a short break for refreshment, there will follow a panel discussion, which might be thought of as a sort of “Question Time on Faith”. The diverse panel is drawn the Questions of Faith Group, which has met at Wellington over many years.  They will choose their opening question to discuss, but after that the floor will be open to the audience and who knows where we will end up.  It’s bound to be informative and fun.  The evening is FREE.

The Crypt Café can be accessed from University Avenue. Head to the right hand side of the building for the Café entrance. There will be signage on the night.

This workshop is part of the 2022 Wellington Arts Festival.

A picture of Wellington Church, a building with six grand pillars at the front and broad stairs which seem Greek inspired. In the foreground of the picture is a lovely bed of tulips in pink, yellow, and white colours.
