On Saturday, 10th June, the WECWC have their annual coach trip which allows us to go a little further and to cover a linear route, both of which are difficult with cars. This year we are walking another section of the John Muir Way from North Berwick to Dunbar.
The total distance is 12½ miles. However, the coach allows you to walk, walk and ride, ride and walk, or ride!!!! After coffee, the walkers will start off from Berwick Law while the coach will take riders into North Berwick for a couple of hours to explore the town. The coach will then pick up the riders and take them to Preston Mill and Phantassie Doocot, hopefully meeting the walkers halfway, for a picnic lunch by the River Tyne. Walkers then set off for Dunbar, while riders are taken by coach straight to Dunbar, to explore this town. This means that you can either walk the whole route, walk half the route, or ride the whole way! After a high tea in Dunbar we make for home. We are leaving from Wellington at 9.00 am and arriving back at about 9.00 pm so it is a long day.
In the past the day has been one of the highlights of the year – for one reason or another! The total cost for the coach, coffee and scone, and High Tea is £30.00. Anyone who would like to join us is most welcome. You can email Glenda White on glenda.white (at) ntlworld.com or phone me on 339 0893 and leave messages or speak to me in church! Welcome aboard!
